okay so i just joined. not trying to be one of those same questions from the new guy, but i searched nerve damage and didn't find my answer. I'm in Virginia and was injured at work and got a bad cut up the bottom of my whole foot and received emergency surgrey. The doctor has told me permanent nerve damage on bottom of my foot is greater than 70 percent. I'm curious if anyone has has nerve damage and that factored into your impairment rating?

it can if it's serious enough to affect your foot.
impairment ratings are done on how the injury affects the function of a body part e.g. the degree to which the foot/leg/ankle is impaired e.g. atrophy, motion, strength, stability, pain, sensitivity, gait, etc.
it's not how the damage was done but how it affects function.
if the doctor uses the AMA rating guides there are provisions in it for measuring those elements. the physician could choose to use rating standards other then the AMA which may value those factors differently.
Reminder :
........Each state has their own comp system; POST YOUR STATE to get accurate information. Use the search feature to find information from similar questions.
THANKS FOR POSTING.
