Scheduled award payment approval question.
#1
Hello everyone!

I have received a notice of permanent disability form that shows a break down of payments that i am supposed to receive for 15 months.

I have an MMI of 30% in my lower left leg.

My insurance carrier told me that the industrial commission of Arizona takes 30 to 60 days to review and approve the decision before any payments are made.

This is where i get confused... so what does it mean that the commission has to approve this? is there a possibility i can get nothing in the end if the commission denies it?

can someone with experience in this situation help me out. I've tried researching but i keep finding conflicting information and am not even sure what exactly this process is called so i don't know what to search for.

Thank you!

Unlikely.
Ratings and benefit calculations can be complex. Sometimes a worker or even an adjuster might not fully understand the current laws on benefit computation or there could be an error. The commission reviews finalizations to make sure the laws were correctly applied and there were no mistakes.
If the commission rejects the settlement for errors, the parties can continue to negotiate a resolution or the commission will hold a hearing and make a decision.
For detailed information you can contact the commissions ombudsman.

thank you for the reply, i'll give them a call tomorrow.

i was told it takes 30 to 60 days and tomorrow is 30 days. I've been trying not to get excited about this in case something happens, but the closer it gets to that 30-60 days the more  anxious i get about something happening.

Most are approved without incident.
