Don't know about recording or whatnot here in NY, but the 3 IME's I had, my hubby was with me from beginning to end. He even asked the IME questions too and was answered.

Bringing someone into the IME/RME is NOT in the Ct. Worker Compensation book.
That is why I called Chairman Mastropietro's office and clarified this with his staff.
The regular WC offices will just tell you to "call for a hearing".

I am dealing with Gallagher Bassett insurance "third party administrators".
These people lie about only everything.

The doctors office should be aware that they have to send you the report as well. (It is the LAW, I was told by Eric at the chairman's office)
That is also not in writing anywhere, and all of this should be,

I highly recommend you bring someone.
Even with my husband in the room and me taping the appointment and ultimately getting the surgery approved, the IME neurosurgeon still lied in areas of the report.
He never did any straight "leg raise" test....and I never saw him before. He wrote: "she saw ME in 2003". That is not true and I have the paperwork to prove I saw Dr Lange (in his group)in 1997, not 2003.
Why do they lie?
DO NOT GO ALONE.

In NY you can tape record the appointment, bring someone and video tape it too.
I spoke to a WC attorney on Avvo about this subject and he was from NY.

Why would your husband ask questions?
I would just answer what he asks.

Is there something in writing stating you can bring someone with you to an IME in Connecticut?  I want to go with my So but she said her last SO was not allowed.

Thank you for your replies.

I found it in writing specifically for CT.  Smile
CT is a "one party" consent, when in person. (that means you do not have to tell the IME physician)

The link I posted opens to Connecticut.
If you look to the left, every state is listed, just click and check about YOUR rights at these "bribery exams".
