Texas: Nobody takes out-of-state Workers Comp Insurance. HELP!!!
#1
Recently moved to Texas from another state, where I was receiving treatment for a work injury. No issues at all, they paid for all my treatment.  When I told my WCI I was moving to another state they said "no worries, just find a doctor and we'll continue paying."

Well.....50 phone calls later (not joking, 50), I haven't found one neurologist in Texas that will accept out-of-state workers compensation insurance. Not one. I have an active claim, and my WCI is 100% willing to pay for everything. Just can't find anybody to take my money.

Any suggestions???

I've expanded my search range to a three hour drive from my city. I've called neurologists everywhere from Abilene to Waco to Austin to Dallas. With no luck.

I'm at a bit of a loss of what to do.

contact your local medical board.
contact TDI
For assistance with a workers’ compensation claim, please contact Claims & Customer Services at 800-252-7031,
or try their website
https://txcomp.tdi.state.tx.us/twccprovi...srhglbhtml

it would help if you knew why the refusal. if it's not the fee and the doctor know they can bill usual & customary, is it reporting requirements?

I also moved to TX from another state. I pay out of pocket and send super bill and proof of payment to the WC carrier.... Then I am reimbursed. It's not factor easy, but.....

I agree.
Most of the time it's a fee issue and workers don,t realize that the carrier,s duty to provide care supersedes the use of a fee schedule. Therefor the doc can charge U &C for out of state treatment and has a legal right to expect payment.
The carrier won,t win that fight in comp court.
