I have been injured on workers' compensation for almost 2 years now. Last year I was out for 10 months due to my injury, but I received the state employee bonus check. The NC budget committee awarded a bonus for this year as well, but I did not receive anything. When I called to find out why, they told me that I had to return to work to receive the bonus. They said this was just implemented this year for workers' comp, but I have not been able to find anything to corroborate this. Can anyone please help me?

if you belong to a union or are subject to a collective bargaining agreement, you should contact your steward or employee representative.
you can also put in a written request to your state Human Resources office to supply you with the legal citation or a copy of the state personnel regulations covering the bonus payment provisions.
if you believe you qualify, you may also file a grievance with your state personnel board,
