skeptical about my settlement ' the insurance company pushing for a settlement..
#1
I've been on work comp for nearly 10 months and the insurance company constantly sends my attorney letters asking for us to make a settlement offer ' we've yet to make a offer because we have no idea what future medical needs I would require.I have moderate to severe stenosis from c2 all the way to c6 and some stenosis In the back as well other things. My treatment is not done yet and i dont wanna settle too soon even though im damn near desperate for money at this point. My question is why wont the insurance company put a number on the table instead of asking us to make the first offer? Im in georgia'i just dont trust them for some reason'is this normal practice or do you think the insurance company has a angle?

one of the long held tenets of negotiating is the belief that he who bids first loses the negotiation.
it is a generally accepted practice for the claimant to initiate a demand.
workers comp does pay temporary disability while the worker is recovering.
if your atty is experienced, follow their strategy.

THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSE AND HELP!! I'm getting TTD but my situation is a little diffrent from others. My workers comp claim was based solely on my part time job and the Insurance company refused to me TTD for my full time concurrent job stating they were not similar.Im collecting a embarrassing 136 per week with 3 kids and all my other living expenses' I got caught in a bad situation while trying to work 2 jobs to provide for my family.I ended up losing my full time job due to not being able to return in a reasonable amount of time ' so my situation is dire right now.

make sure you apply for SSDI as it's likely you'll have been disabled for 12 months or more.
