I am six months past surgery my surgeon says im doing great wants to see me in 3 months im off pain meds I have very limited movements cant sit very long no bending no turning he didn't request any more p/t I think there is a consensus that im not going back to the same job I was doing (warehouse) but im the only one that doesn't know this when I told my p/t I was looking forward to getting back to work she said ill wont be able to do that kind of work anymore my doc keeps on saying time will tell. has anyone had this kind of surgery and was able to return to a physical job. or better yet how long did you have to wait till you were stable enough to return.

i suspect your doc will decide when you return in 3 months whether you are at maximum medical improvement or need some additional time.
every patient recovers differently and at different rates -- some take a year or more -- others at 6-9 months. it depends on the type of surgery and the patients overall condition., age, etc.
most are left with some permanent impairment that will limit what type of work you can do in future. if your body is prone to that type of injury, it may not be prudent to keep at it.
