I just had my last (I hope) visit with my orthopedic doctor and he's going to prepare my rating to submit to the insurance company. I suffered a compression fracture to the L2 vertebrae in April of last year at work. There have been no complications.

Has anyone here been rated on the same injury? I'm just wondering what to expect.

each state has their own comp system and ratings are different.
ratings are not based on diagnosis but on the level of recovery --which varies with each individual.

I'm in Connecticut. I realize it's kind of complicated but I wondered about anyone else that had the same injury with no surgery or complications.

probably a whole person rating of between 5-10%.

What is the percentage applied to in weeks? The back is 375 weeks in Connecticut. What is the whole body?

if the physician is using the AMA guides, they will have to convert the whole person rating to a specific loss rating as Connecticut does not use the AMA's whole person rating system or use a different rating system altogether.

Well, that makes a little more sense to me. Thank you. Connecticut does have a chart for body parts but nothing for "whole body". I suspect my rating will be on the low side. My back seems to be fine now but I guess there has been a change in the vertebrae and that's what the rating will be for.
