06/17/14 my foot and ankle were ran over and crushed by 20ton garbage truck. Rushed to the hospital. I had surgery done 6 days later. I have a plate and 5 screws in my foot (liz franc) and 2 long screws in my ankle. After months of recovery and PT im finally able to walk (limp) but wont ever be able to run, jump, etc. again. All skills necessary to throw trash on the back of a truck if ur familiar with my occupation. Im finished PT. my surgeon says ive reached MMI but the ic offered work conditioning which lawyer suggest i do. I start tht this week for 3weeks. Im only 27yrs old with a long work life ahead of me! My question is what kinda rating can i expect? Will my future medical be larger bcuz of my age n severity of my injury? Dnt want checks i want as much money as possible to buy a laundromat. Lol

ratings are complex and based on a series of measurements.
each state decides on how ratings are to be done. you should discuss the rating process with your doctor.
you can expect the rating to follow your state's procedures to measure your impairment.
estimating future medical treatment is not a precise science; I'm sure experienced physicians take into account many factors when asked to comment on future medical needs of a patient including age, severity, dailly activities, weight, body type, pre-injury condition, other concurrent problems, etc.
if your atty is experienced in worker comp for your state they will negotiate a lump sum buyout that reflects the value of your future benefits.

if your permanent impairment prevents return to the same occupation you are eligible for vocational rehabilitation benefits.

Ok but what if i dont want to be trained in another feild? Is it mandatory? If ive come to grips with the fact tht I'll be impaired forever and willing to risk closing medical for more money can i just settle? I understand its not a get rich system but where i come from 100k goes a long way. If i cant make it off that i deserve to old and crippled.

none of the comp benefits are mandatory; you can opt out any time.
you can only buy out your future benefits if the carrier is willing; neither party can force an agreement. I wouldn't get your heart set on a six figure check. your disability is limited to a portion of 500 weeks and your maintenance medical would seem to be less---
all discounted to present value.

In Md they will send you to Vocational Rehab. This is in all reality applying for any job that you will qualify for. This will happen while you are still on TTD.
If you refuse to do this they will cite you with non compliance, and cut your money off.
In Md, the object is not to make you rich, just to get you back to work

Okay i cant go back to my old job and work experience has all been manual labor jobs and grunt work. I have no certs degrees or special skills. Im also afraid tht a office job or some sit down desk job isnt for me. After voc rehab will i still get future medical and can i cash tht out? I would like to go to barber school.

when you participate in vocational rehabilitation you receive vocational rehabilitation benefits including a maintenance allowance.
like anything else -- when you don't participate you don't get VR benefits---all other comp benefits remain. voc rehab is optional.

Like 1171 said, review the link. Each case is different.
Your medical is open until you close it.
Do you have an attorney? I suggest getting one if you don't
