Do I need to file-Carpal Tunnel
#1
Hi, I work as an Admin Assistant and I recently had Carpal Tunnel surgery my insurance company mentioned that I should find out what my company's WC policy is and now my OM/HR is kind of on my back about filling out the paperwork.

The thing is yes my CT has gotten worse since I have been working here but it didn't start at my current job. I just decided to see a dr about it. I am also a Type2 diabetic (insulin dependent) diabetics are prone to CT.

I have already had the surgery and took 3 days off. I have another issue with my right hand that might require surgery.

My question is do I have to file a claim even though I don't fault my job or position?
Thanks

no.
workers compensation is no fault.
most aggravations caused by the job duties are considered new injuries.
if your health carrier is willing to pay without a work comp denial, then you are not required to file.
comp pays disability -both temporary and permanent.
Reminder :
........Each state has their own comp system; POST YOUR STATE to get accurate information. Use the search feature to find information from similar questions.
THANKS FOR POSTING.
