By the fireplace I would sheet rock also, because of the cost and save that extra money for use somewhere else in the house

Are you taking them to court to pay for damages?

As much as I would like to, no.. I made the mistake thinking this kid was better than what he is. I went off from when I seen it last and I was the dumb one for not inspecting it.. I would win but he has no money so it would be a waste of time.

That's a shame bronco. What about having him pay back in restitution by helping you with renovations in manual labor?
Does he have any guilt at all?

Scooter, I don't want him anywhere near that house and no he has no guilt otherwise he would have not done what he did..

My son and 2 of his friends dug out around the house, 4ft wide and 4ft deep, removed all the blocks aprox 400 and moved them out of the way.. It took them 2 days of hard work, all just for all the soda/Gatorade and supper, they saved us about $1500 per the cheapest estimate. We now have a good look at the slab and the piers holding the house up, We now know why the front half of the house is un level when the kid backed into it with his truck he cracked 2 of the piers. Now we have to level it. Once leveled we can really start on the drywall and windows, we gutted the master bedroom due to being unlevel and it had cracked drywall. We really wanted a good look at the 2/6 wall studs because the windows were bowed. We thought it was rotted but nope all good just who ever built it never put headers above the windows. It is now starting to seem like were getting somewhere.. When were on a tight budget all we can do helps. My settlement checks start in Aug so we will be able to finnish it before winter.....

The house will never compare to the one were in now, but I will make it as nice as we can. We maybe sticking a lot in it now but 3 to 5 years we will be completely debt free. I have tried to help out with some things but find my self better off just sitting back.
