Workers Comp .. Conciliation Process
#1
Hello all ,

I am a 24 year old that was injured in a construction accident 2 years ago. I received benefits for a while and now they tell me I am in what is called the "conciliation process" . I had met with my lawyer and signed the papers in which he said the insurance company and my attorneys have agreed on a SLU %. Once this is signed how long does it take to get the payment? I know they said something about the Workers Comp Board having to sign off on the papers also but I am just nervous that they can maybe change their mind about the payment. Any information would greatly help!! [/size]

there is no set time for the comp board to approve and if they disapprove the board may require a hearing. workloads and complexity are the main factors in the approval process.
although it is rare, either you or the carrier can cancel/rescind a comp agreement prior to the comp boards approval.
there is little either of you can do to prevent the other from changing their mind before the court/board issues it's approval.
your atty should have some experience with the carrier and similar agreements and is in the best position to give you an idea as to how realistic your "nervousness" is.
Reminder :
