The workmans comp company just called my father and told him his claim was denied: the manager of the company he works for told them he was never informed of my father's injury. This was after he told my father that he talked to them and approved of everything and that he was good to go.

We just called the manager of his company again to ask him what's going on and he claimed "no no, I didn't tell them that! You should have been good to go.". We called a lawyer today, they are looking for a workman's comp specialist for us and we are waiting for them to call us back. Last night I emailed the ombdsman but she still hasn't got back to me. The workman's comp company is sending my dad some kind of petition thing in the mail to give him a chance to revive his case.

Thank you for all your advice. I was shocked when you informed me that it should only takes two weeks to start getting paid. My father is too gullible. He says "It shouldn't be like this, they are supposed to take care of you when you get hurt. That's why you pay into workman's comp.". He never imagined that he would actually have to fight for something he was so obviously entitled to.

If they deduct state disability from his checks then he should apply for it immediately. Usually can be done online to get some money rolling in until WC issues are sorted out.

Arizona doesn't have state sponsored disability insurance program.
Reminder :
........Each state has their own comp system; POST YOUR STATE to get accurate information. Use the search feature to find information from similar questions.
THANKS FOR POSTING.

Ok just remember that once you have a lawyer, your dad stops talking to EVERYONE but his lawyer !

I agree that when you work for a company that they should take care of you but in reality once your out due to an injury you are just another shot at their profit losses.

I don't know how old your dad is but you should help him fight and fight hard !
Always hire a w/c lawyer ! And notify the company as soon as the injury occurs ! It will save you butt !
