depends on the legislator. it can get them to put the reason for the denial in writing. but you'll still have to go to the comp court to get it appealled.
congressmen don't have judicial powers.
I was receiving reimbursement and now it has been ignored as well workers compensation adjusters will lie to me saying the check is in the mail
Injured 2014 in CA
I did finally get reimbursed. I filed a complaint with the audit unit (link here: http://www.dir.ca.gov/dwc/Auditref.pdf), copied this to the adjuster repeatedly (once a week at least with all the docs to backup my reimbursement requests) and finally got them paying again. The audit unit in CA is pretty much toothless. They just take in the complaints from workers. They don't really do anything directly but it does sometimes get the attention of the adjuster when they see your complaining to the DWC directly and your attorney if represented. Hope that helps you.
Good for you!
They have 45 days plus 5 mailing days to reimburse for mileage. You can request a 10% self imposed penalty if it is late. Sending in a complaint is good and I copy the adjuster. I would recommend contacting the adjusters supervisor if it continues. You can also file for an expedited hearing over this issue.
I am not an attorney.Anything I write should not be considered legal advice.I am writing from my own personal experiences, which is not from any sort of legal background. You should consult with an attorney over legal issues. In California, if you cannot get an attorney you can consult with an I&A officer.
