my l5-s1 herniation
#1
So I just found out that the IC wrapped up my case 2 or 3 weeks ago. I have heard nothing from my lawyer, doctors, or the IC. The IC sent me a letter that I received today. I guess I reached MMI.

The neurosurgeon that I saw half a year ago gave me 3% disability rating. Keep in mind this doctor barely checked me out and minimized my pain. I already requested a change in doctor but have not heard anything. This guy checked the box that states pretty much that the symptoms don't match the findings.

The other WC doctor checked the box that states opposite and he gave me a 5% disability rate. That gives me a total of 8% for an injury that has changed my life. I knows I'm in pain and that is why he has prescribed my Opana. Problem is, last time I saw him, which was 3 weeks ago, I told him that I was beginning to lose all memory. He immediately started a wean off my Opana. I asked for some Lyrica for the pain. Most recently, after talking with my Psych doctor, I have requested trying tramadol and a higher dose of Lyrica.

I still can change a doctor 1 time. Not sure if I should ask for a neurosurgeon, who refuses to see me, and my pain management/spine specialist doctor, who would rather have me in pain then go out on a limb for me.

I don't know what to do. My pain management has me on light duty. There are no sitting breaks in the instructions. I am furious how they are screwing me big time. This back injury, like I said, changed my life and future job prospects.

that information is usually not available from those not involved with your claim.
how did you find this out if not from any of those involved?

generally each physician's rating for the same disability is not added together.
while changing doctors may change your treatment options it won't change the medical opinions on your permanent disability.

if you wish to dispute the medical evidence in your case, it might be best to talk to a few work comp atty specialists in your area. they know the medical community and can best advise as to how you might change the outcome.
Reminder :
........Each state has their own comp system; POST YOUR STATE to get accurate information. Use the search feature to find information from similar questions.
THANKS FOR POSTING.

I was made aware of it today, when I checked the mail. Apparently, they also sent it to my atty. I am trying to contact them.
Meanwhile I called my pain doctor a couple times and told him that 1 lyrica a day is not doing anything and that I am in pain and can't work in my condition. This was on their answering service, so I'm still waiting for their call.

Sorry. I forgot to add that I am in Florida. So I have only one change of doctor. Sad
