I live in Illinois and have had A/P spinal fusion of L4 L5 S1 and have been told I will never be able to go back to work in any job that requires any lifting. I have been a Paramedic for 18 years and now I am unable to return to that. Does anyone have any idea what my case would be worth as far as a settlement offer that is far for both party's so this can be moved on. I obviously want to be retrained in some other line of work that I can do and have read they will pay to retrain me.

Yes an atty that specializes in workers comp would be able analyze your potential wage loss and give you an idea of comparable value to other settled cases

It is too hard to tell you what your case maybe worth. There are too many factors to look at. If they spend the money to retrain you a settlement will be based on future earnings. You could end up in a job making more money then you did and that would not get you really anything in a settlement. WC does not pay for pain and suffering.
