Work status given by DR. or FCT
#1
Just wondering I have been on light duty since breaking my wrist in 3 places and receiving metal plate, and carpal tunnel release. This accident happened a year ago. After MMI, I had a FCE which determined light duty. I have loss of use at 16%.. Workers Comp.is sending me back to Dr. said they wanted to see if I could get back to reg. duty and regular hours. So what if the dr. says I can. I am really worried I am still having tingling, numbness and pain, more so at night, have pulling pain in arm at plate. Where I work you have to lift 40-50lbs. No way, I am older, have no grip and hardly no strength. Can the dr. change it or will I have to go back for another test? I have not gotten an attorney.

yes the doctor can change their opinion.
depending on your state rules you can challenge the medical opinion.

Sorry I live in GA. What happens if you can not do the job you use to do because of pain and well if you cant pick up things like you use too. Things are different now I drop things and I am slower (this is production.) I know I am worrying before it happens but trying to prepare. I know how I still hurt right now, nobody else does.

if you can't do your job, you'll have to find another that is within your medical restrictions. if you are given a rating you will be eligible for some permanent partial payments.
have you reviewed the handbook?

Loss of use... 16 percent. Read it just trying to find out if If I go back to regular duty and unable to do it will I lose my weekly benefits ( not loss of use). As far as other jobs always done production which would be hard with my hand and arm as it is.
