North Carolina-is it better to be out on disability or WC?

I have a desk job and hurt my back to the point I can't walk around the office. I just submitted the disability claim, but someone told me that if I hurt my back during my work it should be filled under WC. Said to say I hurt my back just doing a desk job but not sure what the right claim should be. Any help would be appreciated as I don't want to mess up my coverage. Thanks

injuries on the job are covered by workers compensation.
