So I had no idea that my doctor put me on light duty in September. I don't think I would have been able to work if needed. Weird thing is I still receive my full tpd checks biweekly. This may have something to do with the fact that I am currently suing my old employer for unpaid wages.
Do they need to line up a job for me before cutting me off? Do they need to give me a warning at least? Also, I'm not sure what my limitations are supposed to be.

each state has their own rules.
no warning but generally they have to send an explanation with or about the time of last check.
you should schedule a recheck with your doctor.

Not sure what the rules are in Florida. According to my atty it could be because there are no light duty positions where I worked.
I was in so much pain in September. Why in the hell would the doctor put me on light duty. Man that pisses me off.

I could do that. But then I will have no changes left. And, unfortunately, my neurosurgeon is completely unreasonable. So I need to save my one change in doctor if I need surgery down the road. I didn't request a different neuro however I haven't seen him in 5 months. He said get a second opinion last time I saw him. My old pain doctor told me surgery was the best option for me.
I have a feeling that I need surgery. It's not going to get much better. If it does I'm just going to end up hurting it again.

You say you have a lawyer, is he your wc lawyer...? He should be collecting your medical records..(you should too), but he would know what restrictions you have.. As far as your checks still coming, as long as they don't have light duty work and you have not been fired they should keep coming until your placed at maximum medical improvement.
As far as a second opinion goes, I got lucky I had a physiatrist from day 1.. He over seen my care and handled referrals and when he got the reports back and didn't like the opinion he would simply refer me to someone else.. As long as it was my dr requesting the second opinion, it did not count as my choice.. But his decision to do so had to hold water or wc would just refuse.. Care to share your injury......?

L5-S1 disc herniation with sequestered piece abutted against left S1 with sciatica. I had an EMG done today and everything came back normal. Even though I noticed no reflex in my left foot's two smallest toes. When he tried the right foot they reacted fine. When he stuck me near my injury site it hurt pretty bad.
I've had two MRIs in the past year. The second one's impression I think is worse than the first. There's also dessication, l4-l5 is about to bust, only a matter of time until gel leaks out of l5-s1 completely.
I'm being treated with facet joint injections on my right side (left side doesn't work for some reason) and 30 mg of Opana ER a day. The facet joint shots last about a month so I try to get as many as possible. Since I lay around all day this dose is working. When I get sent back to work I know I will need a bump in my medication. I can't do simple household chores without being laid up in bed for a day or two.

Sorry forgot to answer your question. He is my WC atty. Oh yeah and another question...
I am being treated by pain management specialist and my neurosurgeon refuses to see me (he's a complete jerk). Can my pain management specialist say I'm at MMI without a neurosurgeon. I need to use my one doctor change and change up my neuro.

Say I don't settle and, for example, a year down the road my back pain worsens significantly. The pain is so bad that I can't perform light duty. Would my medical costs would be covered by the IC or would they try to prove that it's a separate injury? I just have a feeling that I will eventually need a surgery. I need to cover my ass. How do scenarios like this play out? I know that there are many variables that would influence an outcome. If somebody could offer a couple scenarios maybe I can get an idea of what to expect?

Either way it would still be covered.. It could be an aggravation to the original injury or a complete new injury.. Mine unfolded out this way, it was considered an aggravation to the original injury and since my claim was still open It wasn't considered a new claim...
