I live in Alaska and had two injuries within a week or so of each other. The first in my knees. Two tears in my right meniscus and one triangular in the left knee that is supposed to be fairly large. Dr. asked the question on the one to ten how bad did they hurt. I told him I didn't know and he asked why and I told him my back was screaming so loud I hardly recognized my knees hurt most days. He said...go away until you see the back orthopedic specialist. My apt. (with the back specialist)was for the 18th of Feb. and has been moved to the 28th. I have been in pool therapy twice a week for three months. My right SI joint keeps rotating out and up where it doesn't belong and when it does it makes my right leg feel like it has a tooth ache only it's a leg ache. I have had four episodes where I wake up with the ball of my foot that my toes are attached to in searing pain. I mean from a dead sleep to a ten on the pain scale. No one so far has anything but theories as the MRI shows bulging disc and some nerve impingement and something about narrowing canals where the nerves travel through. I do really well in therapy until the foot thing flares up and then the pain and muscle spasms seem to pull the SI joint all out of whack again. I am in enough pain that my Dr. put me on a pain patch and I have an apt. with the pain specialist this Thursday. I got hurt at the end of August and so far WC has treated me fairly. My question is what other tests are there to help document what could be causing my foot to have its flare up, has anyone else experienced it?If it is nerve damage can they fix it? Does it cost WC more money on a settlement if there is permanent nerve damage? I had a test once years ago where they stuck long needles in my leg muscles, told me to make a hard muscle and then ran a current through the needles. Guys I would rather get less money in a settlement any day than ever have to do the test again. I know I have rambled and apologize. I realize that I have it way better than a lot of you out there. I am really tired of being in pain and no one seems to be willing or able so far to say anything except "I don't know". I want to get my knees fixed because at least we know what is wrong with them but the knee guy said not until the back guy has his day with me. HELP ! Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. I just want to know what is wrong and for them to FIX it. I don't care about settlements, re training and any of the other crap that it seems so many of the IC are hung up on. Sorry for the rambling. I am in pain, lonely and discouraged. Thanks for any response any of you have the time or energy to respond with.

I just read a post you wrote on another thread. I am sorry I am so wordy. I think somehow the pain shoots out of my fingers as I type. I am probably just more scared they are going to ask me to do the needles in the muscles, electrode shock test to determine nerve damage. If I refuse they could end TTD saying I was not cooperating. I just don't understand squat about nerve damage but read a lot online and am trying to learn more on my own.

NO, no, Not your fault, so sorry, Brain Dead over here. And it is sooo funny how you mention your fingers are very well capable of expressing your feelings. You know, Good Days, Bad Days! But I'm here now. I did the EMG in my fingers, uncomfortable, but you need that proof, Hell it's no worse than an ESI!!!. They did them on my hands?, But the problem was in my legs, so whatever they need. You know if you don't do the test, they will either stop or have reason to deny your claim. Go on, and I wish my husband had gone w/ , just cause, it was alot. But I called him to tell him it suck and drove myself home.

most of your concerns seem to be medical rather then insurance related.
maybe some medical websits like webmd....or merck can offer some diagnosis or treatment information/advice.....
