settlement after surgery
#1
First off hey everyone first time poster...
Well my question is, I climb radio towers and was injured while doing some repair work atop a tower. I tore my rotator cuff in March of 2011. I worked through the summer and had surgery in Dec. Of 11' to repair my rotator cuff.. After months of therapy i was worse off than before surgery and come to find out i also had a completely detached labrum that was not fixed in surgery 1. So in August 12' had another surgery for labrum repair and did therapy until 2 weeks ago and had severe muscle atrophy and a pinched nerve and had to have another surgery (#3). So on Dec 5 2012 i had left shoulder ulnar tunnel release and nerve decompression . I have been off work since my first surgery and was curious as to what type and amount of settlement i could possibly end up with. The IME already told me after surgery 1 i could no longer work over head or climb towers again... Thanks for your help..

you will be entitled to a period of permanent partial disability based on your permanent impairment.
once you have reached maximum medical improvement you will be given an impairment rating from the doctor that will be used to determine the extend of your permanent disability.
your rating cannot be guessed at accurately prior to MMI.

yes settlement values are complex.
the comp board will calculate your additional disability when your claim is ready to be finalized. you can contact a specialist for help with what you don't understand:

Just had shoulder surgery Tuesday...hope my outlook is better than yours. Mine was suppose to do a regional anesthetic block, which I guess my body didnt take because I was able to feel my arm. But after anesthesia wore off, the side of my face, neck, ear and hairline went numb. So they blocked something alright. Good luck with your recovery!
