Future jobs. California. Settled work comp. claim with PNS.

If anybody has any info, it would be great. My wife had applied for a new job recently and she had to list the meds. for urine test that she was prescribed for her pain management that her current Dr. is treating her for a previous work comp. injury from 10 years ago. She had settled this w/c case 5yrs. ago and she thought every thing was done as she isn't injured or have restrictions. She doesn't even work at that company anymore. This new employer wants to see the settlement papers and final Dr's report to see if she has retrictions. She's waiting for the records to come from the archives. Here's the question. If the report states
that she had/has lifting restrictions is this permanent and keep her from being able to get hired for future jobs? Or can she get reopen or appeal this dicision and get reevaluated by her doctor? Will she need a lawyer? Any input would be great. Thanks

since it was so long ago the employer should have her undergo a fitness for duty exam to identify what restrictions, if any, she has that would her affect her potential employment.
if there were permanent restrictions she should have had a rating done and permanent disability benefits paid.
