getting tired of waiting
#1
I am so tired of waiting on my workman comp to ok a second opinion. My lawyer filed a form 9 and they go to court on Febuary 8. They still haven't paid me any of my mileage and so I am waiting on that as well. Patience is not one of my strong traits.

those are the biggest incentives to settle.
the more impatient you are, the more leverage the carrier has. they will use it regularly.

either pay for it yourself and seek re-reimbursement or use other coverages to reduce their advantage.

Critters Having patience is important with work comp.

At one point I waited 13 months for the judge to make a decision after going to court.

No one but the injured worker is in a hurry when it comes to work comp.

Critter you need to learn patience or the WC system will drive you insane. When you do go to court bring your own copies of everything. Make sure that your lawyer has filed for everything on that court docket, that includes your mileage. If it wasn't filed in advance for the 2nd opinion or the mileage the judge won't rule on it.

It's nasty, it gets ugly, you're in pain and they (respondent), don't care. One of the last times I went to court my lawyer did file for my mileage but he forgot the forms, luckily I had all of it on me. Respondent didn't like it, they ended up paying me nearly $1000. for mileage. Not to mention that my lawyer wasn't entitled to any of that money. That was the last time I saw saw my old lawyer, I fired him, got another one.

I too like Bummer knees have waited for over a year for a ruling and that particular time the judge only ruled on half of it. Not to mention that once it was recommended that I needed a total knee replacement it took another 4+ years to get it.

It gets old sitting at home, watching the bills pile up, wondering when the pain will end. Just do what you can.
