mid and low back herniated discs
#1
hi, i was wondering a couple things, first, heres my injuries, herniated discs at t12-L1 and L4-L5 and bulging annulus at L5-S1 all with compression on thecal sac.diffuse disc desiccation at L3-L4 and significant discogenic disease atT11-T12.happened at work in july, had the cluster of shots for 3 weeks in a row none lasted more than 48 hours, surgeon then requested physical therapy,4 weeks, actually made my upper injury much worse.went back to surgeon beginning oct he said he was going to do 2 separate surgeries,i requested another surgeon and it was ok'd by WC she said shed call me back that afternoon.3 weeks went by and no call, had my lawyer contact her and found out the surgeon put in for the wrong surgery now i have to wait for him to correct his paperwork.3 weeks have now gone by again and still no new surgeon.is there anything i can do to speed this up?i could never imagine it taking this long.my work has been great so far.but the docs tell me ill never do my job again.im a very physical builder with a side company and plenty of work i keep turning down.if i cant do this anymore i dont know what ill do i cant be stuck behind a desk.im in florida.what kind of settlement should i expect if i cant do what i love anymore?and how much longer will this go on?any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks

you can try getting your health care provider to authorize.
they will file a lein against your work comp carrier.

settlement will depend on your recovery.
each person recovers differently and no one can predict yours ahead of time.
some injuries and benefits are for life.

I truely wish you the best outcome. You did not mention what the two types of surgery were. If you are going to be off work for a year. You may want to not only educate yourself your states WC., but also educate yourself with SSA. (social security).

Take Care
8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. After going back to school, I received my degree as a mechanical engineer. What can I say, it was the only way I had to beat the system.

thanks for the info.do you mean to have my personal health care schedule it?my big concerne is feeling better after and going back to work and it happening again, the surgeon told me if i lift 100 lbs its going to happen.my WC case worker told me they would pay for me to go to school but i checked that out and its vocational, they cant teach what i already know.that confuses me.ill need something that pays the same as i was making and i dont see that happening from the courses they have.i have a feeling this wont end well.thanks again

thanks for your concerne.i actually didnt understand what the guy was saying(indian accent)i said why 2 surgeries he said do you want me to cut your whole back open?i waited 2 hours to see him and at this point was very pissed.his lack of care and explanations is what caused me to request a different doc.luckily i did.youve obviously been through this,am i looking at being out for a year?at this point ive lost all hope with these idiots,i guess thats thier plan, besides all this stuff i havent had a problem with WC paying me bi-weekly will they try to stop that?is that why you talk about SSA?thanks again.

if you can get away with not having the surgery you are better off try everything else first...once they start cutting your outlook isnt isnt good for ever going back to normal...as far as getting retrained every state is different and I am in Okla and no nothing about your state however Kate is from Fla and a Mod here so PM her and you will get great answers from her. Good luck
........I love cats, I just cant eat a whole one by myself......
