Going For MMI and rating and Advice???
#1
I have been back to full duty for a month now and tomorrow I go to the Doc for my final release(mmi) and rating. I know he uses the AMA 6th edition. I live in Va and its a federal WC case. Anyone have any advice?

Well I went to the doc today and he said anywhere from 3-5% is what I will get. I thought it would be a little higher. I asked if it made any difference with having 2 surgeries and he said no. Now its a waiting game.

upper extremity ratings are complex. i suspect the 3% was whole person rating. generally about 60% of the rating for the shoulder is converted to whole person.

I dont understand? Is there 2 different ratings? I thought you get 1 rating and then you calculate the scheduled award. I know the shoulder is 312 weeks and you multiply that times your weekly salary then multiply times the %.

Ex: 1000 weekly x 312 weeks for shoulder x .03 for rating(3%) = 9360.00

Is this right? Also is there one rating for limb and then a whole body? If so do they add together?

if there are other body parts involved then they are combined. if not, then there is a single rating.
if you were only given one rating then it just apply to the shoulder.
sorry to confuse you.

It was just my shoulder. I think the rating is for my shoulder only.
