An update and a question...
#1
We got the final word from the last doctor. Other than the permanent restrictions on the knee, there are no others. Husband wants to call the doctor and ask him anyway. I told him to go ahead, but the doctor is well experienced with WC cases and I don't expect him to add anything.

The lawyer said that without permanent restrictions on the back he cannot get loss of earning capacity. The permanent restrictions on the knee pretty much kicks him out of truck driving. We're looking at a huge reduction of income and any settlement we get won't be enough for him to get any kind of decent education so that he can get a job making close to what he made before all this happened.

The husband has been a truck driver for 15 years. Before that he was infantry in the military. He's 43 years old and we're not sure what sort of options he has in order to find a way to resume the income he had before.

Can he ask WC for retraining?
