I live in Arkansas. I was injured on the job resulting in a torn ACL, sprained LCL, and bruised bones. WC has paid my medical bills and I have received a weekly check but a friend told me that since I had surgery I should also be entitled to a settlement. I'm wondering if this is true. I don't want to tick my employers off but at the same time I want to know my rights. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You get less money if you have a surgery, but if you need future surgery you will get money for that.

Get a Lawyer because they can get you more money for your impairment.

there are all kinds of surgeries and not all get settlements. it's not surgery that gets you extra $$.
work comp allows additional disability payments to those that are left with a permanent impairment.
talk to your doctor about an impairment rating and read about comp benefits in arkansas

Surgeries have nothing to do with settlement amount. There are several variables that come into play when settlement talks begin. One of the big variables is permanent impairment, AKA MMI.

With a sucessfull surgery, there will be less of an impairment thus meaning less settlment.. Now if the surgery fails, well then there is more of a impairment...
