I initiated treatment through my health insurance for a shoulder injury several months before filing a claim (wasn't thrilled with the way employee health treated me, and decided to just deal with it - but it has turned out to be too serious an injury). Claim was denied. I meet my surgeon this week, and want to get on with surgery and rehab. Is it true that my insurance company can refuse to pay for treatment if I tell them it happened at work? am I gonna have to -gulp - lie? I fully intend to appeal the denial. Any ideas?
