Stalling paying for approved surgery
#1
My husband has been disabled since 2000 and on federal worker's comp. He was a govt employee and fell on the job injurying many body parts and had multiple surgeries. About 6 weeks ago he was approved for an antibiotic spacer in his knee. Took 5 months to get approval. He has now received all sorts of bills from drs, labs etc. Now he's up for permanent replacement and workers comp will be stalling again and probably not paying the bills. My question is what can he do to get help getting the approval approved sooner and what can we do about all the bills coming in? We've heard you can't sue Federal government. Is this true. We're at a loss in how to handle this. He hasn't walked without a walker all this year so far.

you are not "suing" the federal government when you get a court determination on comp benefits.
litigation can be a time consuming process and rarely speeds up the decision making.
but your husband is entitled to legal representation on his claim.
search your city and state for federal employment law attorneys or contact your state bar for a referral

you are welcome.

of course, your husband can also file a written complaint with the OWCP manager/supervisor

or
contact his local congressional representative.

he should specifically address which regulations he believes are being violated
