COMPROMISE & RELEASE - injured man - 06-18-2016 California question: If you settle via compromise and release and are entitled a life pension because your PD is over 70% do they include the life pension amount in the buyout??? Can they settle a life pension C&R. RE: COMPROMISE & RELEASE - 1171 - 06-18-2016 generally, yes. you can compromise and release any single or group of benefits but generally the carrier wants to close it's claim and insists on a complete settlement. Life Pension is a Permanent Disability benefit and when PD is part of the C&R the LP amount should be included.
