advise on claim oked - 2tired2care - 07-24-2015

My case is in Illinois was injured in 2007 had Lumbar/cervical fusions  am disabled  was told three months ago that case is settled just waiting on papers from other lawyers. Called two weeks ago said they had my case mixed with another and paper work was on its way that week still nothimg called today said still waiting on papers. Does it normally taken so long after settlment is agreed appon. I felt that my lawyers have let me down most of the time Ive been with no doctor for a year could not get one to see me lawyer said he would help me but nothing so hoping I can fiinally find one with the setaside for medical I believe it will be my choice my doctor that treated me retired and no on else would take my case. Should I believe my lawyer is there a way to know if he is telling me the truth or will I have to sit for another year  waiting.

there is no easy or quick way to find out if he's lying. talk to some other attys. your new atty will get your legal file and contact the carrier and may find out what is happening.
the best way to get things moving is to ask for a trial; if your atty stalls, you need to switch lawyers.

Ive tried to change lawyers and can never get one to take my case and last time we talked about going to triala week later is when he said that they were going to agree on a settlment with the setaside thats been around six months ago and 3 months ago is when they came up with the price. So now I am either waiting on that or my lawyer is an outright liar. I have 2 lawyers on my case  because the first lawyer had his brother  working on it and then soon after asined the lawyer that is working on it now to my case and since he was from diffrent firm had sign papers for him and I believe that is why nobody else want involved.

keep trying to find another lawyer.
contact the state bar for help.
file a complaint if you need to
and don't be afraid to let your lawyer know you are doing it.

if he thinks you have no options, there is no incentive for him to move on your case.
