Is $300 Legal Fees for Every Hearing Supposed to Come Out of My Bi-Weekly Check? - Scaffoldrider - 08-28-2014

Hello,
I'm a New York construction worker who had an accident of the
site last year. Is there someone who can tell me the rules or guildlines
concerning attorney fees for a hearing. Will my attorney get $300 for every Workers' Compensation Hearing we go to? I have many friends on Workers' Comp and have gone to many hearings and they say their attorney fees are never taken out of their bi-weekly comp check.
What's the real deal? I had a case years back that I went to hearings
on and off for 8 years and not once was the attorney fees taken out of
my weekly check. Thanks for any help or response!

your atty should make a full disclosure of the fee rules and how the amounts are computed before agreeing to any representation.
these should be in writing and require your written approval to avoid controversy and dispute later.
if you have not receive adequate information ask for it.
