Payment of PD?? Help! - Treeburn - 08-20-2013

I am done with TDD as of last week. I received this letter from my IC. " It is too soon to tell if you have any permanent disability ( which I do). I will be checking with your dr. until your condition is permanent and stationary. At that time your dr. will determine whether you have permanent disability and if there will be need for further medical. I expect to have this information by AUGUST 2014!!!!!
QUESTIONS #1 THE REPORT SHOULD BE IN IN A FEW WEEKS. #2 I thought I was supposed to automatically get PD if my TDD ran out. Just fyi , I even got approved on the first round by SSDI, so there is no question as to the severity of my injury. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

of course, there are questions about the severity of your injury.
SSDI uses different criteria for it's determination then is used for work comp PD. an SSDI finding is not considered by workers comp to determine it's benefits.
the two are not comparable.
as I posted before SSDI only looks at disability for a year; comp looks at it as permanent lifetime. totally different standards.

PD is only paid or advanced when there is evidence of permanent impairment. not every injury is entitled to PD.
unless they dispute the findings, the carrier is obligated to begin advancing PD when they have medical evidence of the likelihood of permanent impairment.
if the report is sent in a few weeks, then at that time they will begin advances or notify you they are disputing the findings.
