Leadership in the New Decade – Attempting Positive Change in the Workers’ Compensation Industry by Networking, Support, Mentoring, and Collaboration

The new decade has presented most of us with unprecedented challenges! The pandemic that struck in early 2020 caused not only extraordinary numbers of illnesses and deaths, but also lifestyle changes that altered the way many of us work and live. Circumstances required rethinking personal interaction among the workforce and evolved into new experiments with technology designed to redefine how to be an effective worker!

These new challenges were superimposed upon a workforce wherein women were starting to emerge as leaders in the industry and businesses had to consider diversity and inclusion issues. The Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation, which was formed in 2016, is a think tank of engaged female thought leaders committed to discussing challenges and emerging trends in the Workers’ Compensation industry. The AWWC is delighted to present as a part of the MWCEA’s webinar series a program designed to foster an environment allowing open dialogue regarding idea sharing, gathering, and networking.

This program will address the challenges surrounding worker expectations in the evolving culture. In recognition that the workers’ compensation industry is changing due to turnover rates and an aging workforce, the AWWC is facilitating the discussion regarding leadership, mentoring, defining the right career path, and appropriate goal setting within the developing work environment.

The program is not intended for women only but will be led by women who have excelled in their respective fields. The thought-provoking discussions will provide food for thought for all attendees and will help us have a better understanding of the challenging issues. The goal will be to provide men and women and people of all races a path to better understanding of each other and yield an enlightened work environment that is rewarding for everyone.
