The Basics of the Temporomandibular Joint

This course is designed to inform Work Comp claim handlers about what the Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) is and what its functions are as well as what Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD) is. This course will also outline topics related to TMD and TMJ in order to increase the understanding of how TMD will effect patients. We will also briefly touch on common injuries associated with the TMJ, compensability, and insurance terms and coverages.
