Alabama 2020 Worker Compensation Seminar for Continuing Education

The first half of this session will be an Alabama overview of claims management course

NOTE: Please be aware that the conference hotel is booked. Some nearby hotels that are close to the conference hotel are the Hyatt Place Birmingham/Hoover, La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndam Birmingham Hoover, or Embassy Suites . If you do not have a vehicle or ride to get back and forth from the other hotels to the conference hotel, then it is suggested that you attend a seminar at a later date.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Section 25-5-293(a) of the Code of Alabama, 1975 as last amended, requires continuing education for all personnel associated with Alabama Workers' Compensation claims. Eight (8) continuing education units which are approved by the Workers' Compensation Division must be obtained each calendar year. Any person not accumulating the necessary continuing education units will receive a suspension of the privilege to handle workers' compensation claims in Alabama.

Advanced online registration is required and payment is due at time of registration.

FEES

$130.00 (3) three weeks prior to seminar, $140.00 less than (3) three weeks before seminar Includes educational material, continental breakfast, lunch and a refreshment break. Confirmation will be e-mailed upon registration. There will be no registrations the day of the seminar.

NO REFUNDS UNLESS CANCELLATION IS GIVEN SEVEN (7) WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO SEMINAR. Enrollees who fail to attend the seminar and do not give prior cancellation notice will be required to pay another registration fee if they wish to attend a future seminar. There is a $25 cancellation/refund fee that will be charged and will come out of the $130.00 fee. However, we gladly accept substitutions at no charge. FLIGHT INFORMATION

The Orange Beach and Birmingham Seminars put on by AL Dept. of Labor are one-day seminars that start at 8:30 and end at 3:00 PM.

• The nearest airport to Orange Beach, AL is Pensacola International Airport which is about an hour from the conference hotel. You will need to make sure to get a flight that allows you to attend until 3:00 PM for all of AL Dept. of Labor seminars.
• The Birmingham Airport is 30 minutes away from the conference hotel. Please make sure to get a flight that you can wait until AFTER 3:00 PM to leave the hotel so that you are not leaving in the middle of a presentation.

The seminars focus on all aspects of workers' compensation and topics may include:

Legal Discussion - Attorneys and Judges Medical Discussion and Issues
Legal Update/Case Law Legislative Update
Medical Discussion - Pain Management, various common WC surgery procedures, etc.
