Course Objectives

• Identify the process and UR approval for DVT devices for post-surgical prevention of DVT risk for injured workers.

• Recognize how a DVT can affect the injured worker’s claim cost and impact return to work timelines.

• Understand the basic equipment and features of multiple medical devices to prevent or treat DVT risk.

• Provide carrier with alternative products strategies to reduce the patient usage and claim cost.

Zack and his team travel the country, evaluating patients in rehabilitation centers and visiting their homes to determine the best home-based treatment approach. Zack also oversees One Call's Life Assessment program that provides a 360 degree review of claims, evaluating factors that impact patient health and quality of life throughout the claim. Zack serves as an advisory board member for the Shepherd Center Spinal Cord Model System and speaks at various conferences throughout the country.
