My new toy, 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 quadcab SLT package. Yeah we owe money on it, only $9,800. though, should have it paid off before the end of the year. So if you see a big white dodge ram on K-96 or I35 in Sedgwick County Ks just get out of my way. It's a biggie.

Tomorrow we go pick up our new travel trailer, 2010 R-pod 177. We sold our other travel trailer 2 weeks ago. We're going to have fun this summer.

California: While I am waiting for the AME decision to decide whether or not my claim will be accepted My Dr has decided to start physical therapy again and to try Shockwave treatments. Problem is the Shockwave treatment can only be performed at a clinic that is an hour away from me. The reason I am told is because they want to do it on the spine and even though closer facilities perform shockwave therapy they do not perform it on the spine. So I drove to my first shockwave session an hour one way waited 15-20 minutes in the waiting room then went in It took all of about 5-7 minutes. Yes 5-7 minutes. I had to drive an hour which wreaks havoc on my back pain for a 5 minute treatment? I will have a total of 3 sessions to my spine and 3 sessions to my hip, so that means I have to do this commute 6 times. Not being reimbursed for mileage currently is also making it difficult to pay for gas to go to these appointments. So after this long drawn out speech, do I have a recourse in this situation ? Instead of helping me it is causing more financial strain and does not help my back pain either.

We need some drywall work done on our house, and we got an offer from a guy who has no Workers Comp. He charges cheaper than a contractor, but what if he gets hurt while working on our house?
Been injured since 2006, got released on or about April of 2009 by WC. Temporary Disability Payments had stopped. As per my request, my WC Attorney asked for advancement till settlement. No luck withthe advancement.

I finally had 3 IME's scheduled, 1 from my WC Insurance Co. and 2 from my WC Attorney.

It's pretty upsetting to hear from of the IME Physician that we have a corrupt lega system. The WC Judge only wants to hear what they want to hear. The 3rd IME, I was evaluated by a physician and a physial therapist. The PT never conducted an exam. He only dictated what was on the opertive report and diagnostic reports. Unfortunatley, my medical records were incomplete and missing approx. 14 surgica procedures.

The IME was pretty upsetting, you get to hear over and over my disability. It was upsetting to lye on the exam table and hearing the physician clicking his recorder and examining you. The exam took approx. 1hr 1/2. I felt like a cadaver being examed to hear my injuries and recalling my injuries over and over and over. You think that you have already accepted the fact of your disabilities but just hearing my injuries over and over again was just upsetting.

Before seeing the IME Physicians, I waited in the waiting room and overheard 2 gentlemen discussing their injuries. From my understanding to there converstion, they must work wth te Correction Dept., and had enought time put in to receiev full pension benefits. There job descriptions as on states that he has to carry 2 hand cuff and most of his friened and family had adviced him to get out and take the WC Settlement and being unable to return back to work because of the injury sustained. He would seek a new career possibly working as a bartender and collect approx. $70,000.00 frm his pension and collect from WC settlement and SSD. He did not choose to returne back to work and agrevate the injury and resulting him form permanently not being able to work at all.

Now I recall a statement made by one of the IME physicians, that the system we have is corrupt. It's also surprising to hear that there are only a few speciality in law that are classified similiar to as being "Board Certified" (Highest Level) and I was surprise to find out that WC Attorney is one of them.

I was told by the physician that we are going for 100% disability and the other party can agrue and fight there figures.

I also learned that I was responsible for the IME scheduled by my WC Attornty, payable during settlement in the amount of $200 x 2 = $400 and any additional cost of obtaning medical records from hospitals and physician and all this will be deducted duing settlement.

I cannot believe how this process takes this long when other lawsuits such as Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice can take a shorter period.

I was told that it normally takes approx 3 weeks for the IME report to be received to my WC Attorney.

I'm just glad that it's almost over.

Not sure how to put this but for the last few weeks my mind has not been there. Believe it could be the increase in pain in my leg after the doctor did a shot in my back that was suppose to help, but as before didn't. But this time it caused more pain. Had the follow up appt yesterday and he is going to do RF. I had told them on my last appt before the shot that was what I thought had worn off but I think the nurse messed up and miss read the date on my last RF on the side so they thought it was too soon. Any way I have been having trouble keeping my mind on anything for very long. I start to pray and my mind drifts, and ask in my prayer for my mind to stop but so far that hasn't happened. Even writing this has now taken 30 mins or so. What I think I'm wanting is a few prayer to help this work itself out.

Just don't,
think about it. Your body might be broken, but don't let it break your spirit.
Your body might not work as originally designed but don't let it break your heart. What makes you whole is not your body, it's your spirit, your heart.

I know it's hard, I've been there, failed surgeries, botched surgeries, delays, checks that never arrive, checks that are stopped.

My husband and I pray together a lot. There are some nights that I stay up until he gets home at 1:00am just so we ca pray. A year ago January we faced loosing our home, we had to let go of something. We prayed until nearly 3:00am that morning. The next morning I had one word go through my head, that word was 'don't'. My husband woke up at 12:30, with amazingly the same word going through his head. My husband and I prayed together before he left for work. Things would work out, we had faith.

Two days later I was asked to work inventory in our local store. That paid me $120. a week for 3 weeks, that caught us up on most of our bills.
The day after that job ended I cried nearly all day, so depressed, knowing that the bills would back up again. Two days later a letter in the mail, TTD would be paid back to Sept. 2007, 4 days after that a check for $17,000. arrived in the mail.

I promised myself after our finances were fixed that I would never, ever, if possible allow myself to get into such despair again. I made a promise to got that I would 'wait upon the Lord'. It's been hard at times. I told Bummer Knees that I didn't expect a decision from the judge we both go in front of until the end of March. I wouldn't worry about it and I haven't, my husband however has started asking. So perhaps I need to smack him around a bit, but that's a different story. My point is don't, jut don't, God does have a plan. But I know, it's not always easy, we do cry, we do get upset. But have faith, the body might be broken, but don't let work comp, the system, this world break your spirit, your heart.
I had a L5/S1 fusion 12 years ago and have had no problems. Now the MRI shows this to be true, a EMG shows nerve damage, my specialist and the surgeon both say I need a fusion and the IME say's no I dont. Today I recieved a Court date with me being the defendant and they are saying ""The emloyee's incapacity for work has ended". Does anyone know what this means?
Hi all..just a quick note to ask for prayer. We are leaving here in just a few minutes...and we are heading to Portland because I am going to go through an entire group of testing. One of the test I know you are all familiar with is the MRI. I will go through evoked potential, which the last time I had one it sent me into grandmal seizure so I am not looking forward to that one at all... however, for me the worst is the MRI... as a child I almost died in a refrigerator and I flash back to what happened as a child in the refrigerator if they don't put me out. I just found out that I am going to be in it for 41/2-5 hours with one time out to have the dye injected. My entire brain, spinal cord is to be done. Then I found out that they can't put me out becasue there is no crash cart or doc on board who can do this. I am in Oregon now that is for sure... please say a prayer that I can do this. My plan is to close my eyes and try to think of all the wonderful things that I have in my life and about my upcoming trip to NJ. Of course that means my grand children and my brand new grand daughter ... don't ask me her name, because my son will have to shorten it if he wants me to spell or say it... it is a long greek name. It is very pretty when said, just not able to get it together for me right now.... lol.. any way.. please say a prayer..I am really nervous... and I want to take a hand full of ativan to get through this...and yet I know it is not what I will do either... besides I don't have a handfull of ativan anymore... my mom has it...just my sense of humor coming out...lol.... I will be gone until Friday... see ya soon..Red

Hi kiddos,
Once again looking for a little advice on my PT.

If you read a previous thread form me, I had an episode of floppy foot and leg numbness at PT last week that freaked out my threapist.

So today I go for my appointment. I told her I had another episode of the floppy foot and leg numbness on Sunday and I fell.

My fault totaly, we got a new computer and I sat way to long hooking everything back up and installing new software and transfering the old drive over ect. I stood up and down I went. My poor dog was laying behind me and the chair went over and smacked her butt. Scared the S**T out of her. I didn't hurt anything but my pride, because my loving husband saw it all. He helped me up though he did have a good case of the giggles again while doing it. And said he was going to get me a helmet to protect my melon. Got to love him, anyways I digress, back to the Pt stuff.

She had me do some new excersizes today. Side stepping along a counter and a rocking board ( who knew that this would be very hard to do), the bike, then finnished by having me walk around. My foot started to drag and I had numbness agian in the foot, leg stayed normal thank God. She had me go back into the room where she did some Strength tests and then I had electrical stim. 1/2 way through the stim she came in and said my hip extenders were not working at all when I walk, and told me I had to cancel all my remaining appointments until I see my surgeon again. So here are my questions.

1. Do I have to notify WC that my therapist had me cancel my appointments, or do they take care of that themselves?

2. Should I be worried over this or let it go, is she not telling me something, she said she was going to call my surgeon again today. She did not tell me to quit my home excersizes, but she did say not to do them often, and spread them out during the day, she had me doing them 3 times a day. Now with her new schedule I would only be doing them once a day and spread out during the day.

I know I have complained about therapy in the past, but I did actually look forward to the appointments ( not the pain after though). It was a trip out of the house which I don't get to do very often because of pain and pain meds. I also felt it was helping with the back muscle pain and the strength in my back, not so much the pain that goes down my leg or the numbness, which I think is the problem. Once again thanks for letting me share and any advice is welcome.
