3 level laminectomy-diskectomy,recovery
hello everyone thanks to all those who provide very helpfull info.
I had a 3 leve laminectomy-discetomy back in sept 09 l3-l4-l5-doctor tells me Iam not going back to any kind of work. recomending permanent disability,I honestly feel a little difference on the pain, before and after the surgery, cant walk too long cant sit down too long, its frustating having to take pain medication. just to be able to walk around the house. is anyone out there who had a 3 level laminectomy? and how are you doing after, i HAVE been waiting to get better since last september, doctors tell me , give it time, it will get better. when?doctor tells me, you look good,I dont want to look good . I want to FEEL good!thanks |

RE: 3 level laminectomy-diskectomy,recovery
Everyone heals at their own pace. If you feel like you should be at 100% by now talk to your Dr. about it ask him/her specific questions on realistic recovery times. I had a L5-S1 fusion in june of 09 was told healing can take anywhere from 4 months to a year, and still I am having problems. Good luck.
6/97--Discectomy L5-S1. 3/09--Discectomy L5-S1 (failed). 6/09--spinal fusion L5-S1. This year who knows? |

RE: 3 level laminectomy-diskectomy,recovery
unless the surgery was a complete failure it's likely your disability will be only partial. you should look into alternative careers and/or lighter work.
partial disability is insufficient to live on. |
