Cap, the facility I go to gives scholarships to people who need the exercise but can't afford it. There are also discounts because of age, diability, and if you agree to go only during certain hours. It's a medically based facility, and they try to accomodate.
Ask around, or ask your PTP for a referral thru your I/C. One membership cost equals the cost of one physical therapy session, so it's a win win situation. Hope you are feeling better soon
