Which prey are you?

Early this morning (0428), I was awakened by a strange animal sound. At first could not figure out where it came from. Went to the bedroom window to see a large fox running off. Such a beautiful animal, not common to see anymore. But an animal which adapts, small, but a good hunter.

It was a cat, almost identical in size that the fox had cornered, on our front porch. Cat under a chair, fox, just 2 feet in front. Don't know which animal made the very loud sound which awakened 3 members of our household. But it was amazing to see this beautiful creature which our Lord had made. Standing there on our front porch, stalking a cat, nearly it's size.

It made me wonder which prey are you. The hunter, the one who stands it's ground, proud, tall, not easily taken. Or the victim, cowering in a corner, making a loud noise but soon to be defeated.

I want to be inbetween, not the hunter but not the victim. Don't want to go after but stand tall when approached, making my stand. Giving my arguments, perhaps still a loser but a winner for standing firm to my beliefs.

Which prey are you?

Our story from this morning, my husband opened our front door and both the fox and the cat took off. I saw only the fox, a beautiful proud animal, a site to see. My husband and youngest saw fox and cat go off in different directions. So a standstill, both to fight another day.
