RE: Helping sister
1171, your right, as Indiana doesn't allow double dipping into the money pot. They do keep a very close eye on it. But, unemployment in Indiana (beware), as if they find out one isn't looking for work while on unemployment, they will in a matter of months ask for all the money back. (This I do know as to be so very true).
Indiana is one tough State, and this why they have so much money in their State resever funds also. I had just seen a women age 70, got laid off due to company closure. Went on unemployment, didn't show proof of looking for work. 4 Months later, was told they had to pay all unemployment money back. So, if unable to be employable, and look for work, that money will be returned. Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |

RE: Helping sister
She can work and is working, just not at the job where she was hurt because that position was a floor sales person position and she can not stand. but she is still interviewing for jobs, in fact drove to her last interview. She is able to work, just not at any job where it requires standing.

RE: Helping sister
I collected unemployment here in Illinois, and I had restrictions.........My Dr had to fill out a paper with my restrictions, that was given to Unemployment and I had to look for work within those restrictions. So not all state laws are the same. You can in some States collect unemployment benifits while on restrictions. But you can't collect WC and Unemployment at the same time...
