SCS Trial
Found out this afternoon I have been approved for the Trial SCS, but need to get an updated MRI first to bring to consult.
I'm assuming MRI is to see if anything needs to be fixed before trial? I already have cage C5-7, but still have radiculopathy. I really don't want more surgery. I wasn't too thrilled about the SCS, until the pain meds were taken away due to kidney complications. LOL!

RE: SCS Trial
Good luck with the trial. They might also be doing the MRI because if you do have a SCS implanted you can't have any more MRI's after that. The trial is not too bad and I would rather do it in the colder weather since you can't take a shower while you have the trial in. You will know after a few days on the trial if it will help you or not.

RE: SCS Trial
Thanks for the support!! Boy, we sure do need to support each other through all our trials and tribulations. It's really reassuring to know there is a place to go to and others will understand, no matter what you say. Talk to people who you see from day to day and they will never fully understand. It's like you are talking a foreign language and it's more frustrating than helping.

RE: SCS Trial
OK, met with doctor again. He is setting the wheels in motion so I'll be waiting upon the powers of the I/C for further instructions. LOL!!!!
I have been trying to pin the doctor down to get more specifics about the "healing" process and the after effects of the implant, as this could make a big impact on my decision to go forth. He said, "three days for trial". Keep activity as "light" as possible; no driving, no bathing, no bending, to lifting. Final implant if 50% of pain is relieved by trial. P.S. Due to the magnetic impulses, I have read that the SCS can interfere with other electronic equipment so a distance has to be kept. My first thought was, what about my laptop? Will this be a problem using a laptop with an SCS? For 2-3 months, scar tissue will be forming to keep the stimulator in place. Up to that point, activity is limited. Walking ok, but not much else. So, does this sound right to you who have an SCS? Edited: Oops, forgot to smile again.
