AVERAGE $$ VALUE OF PPD RATINGS IN CALIFORNIA
A number of posters over the years have requested "ballpark" dollar values of their claim. data on this benefit is very scarce from any source and is often meaningless as there are too many variables in the differing rating systems to make anyone's case comparable. Each state has their own schedule; wages and maximum rates are different; rating manuals and methods vary greatly.
But for those who are interested here is some research information from a May, 2008 study done in california. OVERALL $15,180 Spine $15,410 Shoulder $7,693 Elbow $4,140 Wrist $7,693 Hand $4,623 Grip strength $10,361 Arm $10,269 Hip $14,490 Knee $6,693 Ankle $6,003 Toes $3,381 Leg $10,729 Hearing $11,281 Soft tissue $14,950 Heart $47,196 Eyes $15,295 Pulmonary $34,477 Psych $33,833 Multiple $27,174 While my better judgment cautions me that this posting will cause more confusion then understanding, it could also lead to questions that will allow fuller explanation. the full study data is here http://www.dir.ca.gov/dwc/dwc_newslines/...28-08.html |

RE: AVERAGE $$ VALUE OF PPD RATINGS IN CALIFORNIA
to many variables Bubba someone who makes 50 dollars an hour is gonna get more than someone who makes 10 dollars an hour......thats just one variable
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

Also must consider Age in the factor if permanent dis. Of course most expences are going to be for future medical, wich Im sure has nothing to do with these figures....

RE: AVERAGE $$ VALUE OF PPD RATINGS IN CALIFORNIA
I understand it. And as you read it, it is also based on Return to Work injured people, age, and amount of income lost. The higher income get more, the age of 41 and higher gets more. Plus all the whatevers related in each case changes the amounts. I can look at this as Baseline...

the recommendations were never approved and the average PPD payouts from the study, I suspect, remain about the same today.

inpainokla Wrote:thats crazy from what my lawyer says my cases is worth up to 6-8 times that amount of 15000 dollars that's the critical point to make: values from one case to another are so unique they are not comparable even within the same state and the same rating system. |
