I got the too young from my doctor. I had a pretty bad wrist injury and my wrist now has no range of motion( have two bones fused together plus a screw) at all and in future will require more surgeries, due to post traumatic arthritis and will need a wrist fusion inevitably a wrist replacement so I have to wait till all that so I can have range of motion in my wrist again.
I asked my doctor why not go for a wrist replacement now and he told me I am too young. With a replacement I wouldn't have the stregnth (which I don't have now) but I would have the range of motion I don't get it. He tells me I can get a second opinion but I already used my one time change of physician. Which stinks.
I have had capsulodesis scaphoid, capsulodesis lunotriquetral joint wrist, debridement of triangular fibrocartilage all in my right wrist and a tendon sheath release(that was just one surgery) & a lunotriquetral fusion Plus now a wrist fusion
