Off to college tomorrow
Hi All,
Off to college tomorrow with my oldest. He's been a bit crazy the past couple of days. He's afraid that the same thing will happen at WATC that happened at hutchinson CC. Time, patience and alot of reassurance, that's what he needs. I just wish I didn't have to go, it's for 1 yr, I just hope at times I'll be able to stretch, walk around. I can't sit for long periods of time nor can I stand for very long. It's going to be a long, long day and an even longer week. Then I go for a meeting about my dad, another long session. BB |

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: Off to college tomorrow
I applaude you for doing it. I wish more parents were more involved with thier children. As you already know. It will be worth it in the long run.

BB Good luck. I would make sure the professors understand that you are injured and you may have to get up at times because of your injury. I am sure they will understand. The best of luck again to you and your son.
GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT! |

RE: Off to college tomorrow
Good Luck Bodybuilder.
You know your son best and understand his disability and behaviors. As a parent trainer with the Kansas PTI Center we developed a workshop called "Ability Awarness" Student & faculty would have the opportunity to experience what it is like to be disabled. We would setup in 5 different stations. One example: At the communication station we taught the student about sign language, and the student had to communicate to us non-verbal, (not using their voice). With the student & faculty going thru all 5 stations they would come out of the workshop with a better understand of what it is like to be disabled. Interaction between the disabled and non greatly increased in the schools after the worshops were held. Bodybuilder I do have the Ability Awarness Workshop Packet if you are interested in it. |

RE: Off to college tomorrow
I did an ability awareness when I was a para, it was great. I tried to get other paras to do it but to no avail. Goddard educational co-op sometimes does great workshops.
I haven't been to one since Josh graduated. I think we're in a great class, teacher who has an autistic son. Only twelve students in the class, most are there with a goal, laid off, quiet, etc. I think he'll do just fine, he didn't sleep hardly at all last night. But he seemed really happy when we left today. Thanks all, BB |

RE: Off to college tomorrow
Good luck to both of you. I know you and your son will do great this time around. Look at the new school as a blessing . To have a teacher that understands your son is a big blessing and can make this a good experence for him.
May God send his angels to hold you in his arms |

RE: Off to college tomorrow
Best of luck to both of you Bodybuilder....will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know how things are with your dad.
God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |
