Made a decision
I've been having lots of issues lately with the cervical injury, my injury is from an auto accident/2007.

The pain and BP have increased and lately I've had trouble controlling the pain.

I've decided to schedule an appointment with an OS.

Fortunatly the one I have seen for the back also specializes with the neck.

I do like this OS and he is easy to communicate with.

I want to look at treatment options available other then surgery.

This was a big decision for me to make, although I feel it is the right decision for me.

I'm tired of the cervical pain controlling my life.

RE: Made a decision
I just wanted to update.

I called my attorney today and learned that I will be able to see a specialist on the neck injury and it will not complicate anything. (I am in the process of settlement)

My insurance company will pay for the doctor visit (got this confirmed today)

Wasn't sure if I needed to go to an orthopedic surgeon or neurosurgeon.

My goal is going to the specialist to learn what type of treatment would best benifit me.

Dx before treatment all the time. So, you will need to wait and see what takes place, as sure as I speak, there will be alot more then just seeing a doctor that will take place.

RE: Made a decision
Bad Boy you have me confused, not for sure what you are saying.

After the injury the DX was tramatic myofasical syndrome.

Only seen the primary doctor (osteopath) on this injury, but he has been on target with what the ortho's have said on the knees, back & arm.

I hope all I need is physical therapy or a change of medication.

One of my big worrys with the neck is, the pain is causing high blood pressure.

RE: Made a decision
Bummer, this was almost 2 years ago. Meaning everything needs to be re-studied again. The doctor can't wave a magic wand and say this is new, or this is the same. So, in order to proper DX, is to restudy everything from scratch, and compare everything with what was done in the past. No way will this be solved in a few visits.

RE: Made a decision
The MRI was taken 4/09.

Darn, I was hoping for a few physical therapy visits, then I would be all better.

RE: Made a decision
Bummer, all we can do is hope and pray nothing has changed. We will wait and see what the Specialist has to say. I do think the MRI is somewhat old though.
