RE: sending out prayers for the ppl and families in PORT UA PRINCE
it is scary from what I am hearing they had buildings that were brick but not reinforced with rebar or much mortar......
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: sending out prayers for the ppl and families in PORT UA PRINCE
Yes, one of my close friends has been trying to adopt a little boy from Haiti for the last four years. They have visited there, spent time with him, signed paperwork etc, all done and they expected to be able, hopefully, to bring him home in the next few months. Now this. The orphanage that he is in is still standing, but they have to have water carried in, etc. They are very worried about him and how this is going to affect the children in that orphanage. We have already gotten this family on the news....there are other families going through the same thing...all waiting to bring their children out. They are right in the middle of it. All so sad. Prayers are a real need right now for everyone involved, hurt, or going out there to help. If I were fit, I would go out myself if I could. If I had the means, I would adopt a child from there as well.

My heart crys out for those people, They didn't have much ( living in poverty) and now they have even less....
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain. |

A good friend of mine is a missionary in this country.
She recently purchased a home and her 3 children live with her. I am told she lives about 50 miles from Port UA Prince. |

RE: sending out prayers for the ppl and families in PORT UA PRINCE
Just heard that my friends child is now on a list of children being brought into the US in the next few days. I don't know how many are coming. Saw that 7 made it in today.
This is such a terrible disaster. I watch the news every night and some of the things that come up have me crying...almost to the point that I just want to turn the telly off. I wish there was something more that I could do. I can't even make a donation for another 2 weeks! |
