RE: With a little polish $$$$
Good deal BB, doesn't it make you feel good to find a real bargain?
This does not compare, but early in our marriage, we were invited to a luau. Not wanting to buy a hawaiian shirt for my husband, we went to Good Will and found one for $1.00. When he wore it to the luau, he reached in the shirt pocket and pulled out $1.00. We were tickled that we got the shirt for FREE! Let Go, and Let God...... |

Free is always good.
Speaking of Goodwill, I was in one yesterday. I didn't notice the lady that went up to my cart and took my new winter coat until she was walking up to the register. She asked for the price and I told her that it didn't have a price because it was my coat. She turned around and told me to 'prove it'. The store ended up calling the police on the lady. Not taking my coat off in Goodwill again. BB |

Did you get your coat back?
I've encountered some pretty rude people in Goodwill but I do like to shop in their stores. |

I love Good Will I get a lot of picture frames from there. The funny thing is none of them have glass so I think that is why people get rid of them. Well you never put glass over an oil painting so it works perfect for me. I have a sort of funny story. I took the garbage to the dumpters one day and at the bottom of one of them there was this beautiful antique light fixture. I fished it out and took it home. Dave liked it and asked me where I got it. I told him and he said you take that back, I can't believe your were dumpster diving. I of course didn't take it back, after all of the trouble it took to get it out of there and after all he liked it until he found out where I had gotten it.
GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY AND OUR PRESIDENT! |

ahhhhhhh then you all would have loved Germany 30 years ago I have no idea if they still do it.....but they paid a tax every 4 months on what was in their house...every four months they had a day when they set everything out on the curb that they no longer wanted or needed..the trash man picked it up the next day..you should have seen us americans combing the streets picking up bargains lol my favorite cooking pot came from there and a beautiful shrunk(wall unit) boy howdy it was fun.....
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

With help, I fished a beautiful walnut bookcase with glass doors out of the dumpster at work, when I lived and worked in San Francisco's financial district. One of the managers didn't want it and just tossed it. That was 35 years ago and that bookcase is still a beautiful piece of furniture in my house.

I would of literally fought to get that coat back, I wore it out and didn't take it off until I got home. It's brand new, got it a week after Christmas, spent over $100. for that coat.
That has happened to me before with a coat in Good Will. You'd think I would of learned by now, but the last time the lady was nice about it. This lady startled the crap out of me, imagine her telling me to 'prove it'. |
