RE: What are the steps to becomming MMI ifyour Dr. doesn't explain things to ya?
1. go to doctor.
2. doctor examines you 3. doctor writes report: "patient is MMI". 4. checks stop coming. 5. notice from carrier is received: TTD stopped as you are MMI or P&S". more here http://www.dir.ca.gov/dwc/iwguides.html (see factsheets D & E especially) |

How can you be MMI if it has just been discovered that you have CRPS, yet there has been no testing done yet to prove it is CRPS?
What's the point of thinking this far in advance at this stage? Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |

RE: What are the steps to becomming MMI ifyour Dr. doesn't explain things to ya?
BBBB, Thank you very much for your concern,
1. What testing do they need to do to prove it is CRPS? 2. I am going today to pick up the foot specialist report from my chiro's office today, I'm also going to ask for copies of my chiro's and pain DR. reports, I will share when I get back today. 3. The reason I'm thinking ahead, being positive: I have done a lot of research on CRPS and it is for life, I can accept that and deal with it if I prepare myself. 4. From what I have read it is easy to understand what I have, to change my life to acomodate the pain I have every day all the time is the hard part for me, Please I need to stay Positive and focus and I don't want these Dr.'s to take advantage of my nieveness, I wish i knew I could of stayed with Dr. Pratley, he has been the best Dr. for me but I thought sense the insurance stopped my W/C checks I couldn't see him any longer, no one explained this to me not even my attorney at that time. Thanks again BBBB have a nice day! Life is like the ocean, it can be calm one minute and the next a wave will knock you off your feet, it's up to you to get back up and take control. |

The only recognized condition to date is the Fracture and that is healed so can be MMI'd I imagine.

RE: What are the steps to becomming MMI ifyour Dr. doesn't explain things to ya?
Sunshine, I don't know what you are reading but CRPS resolves on it's own in the majority of diagnosed cases. There is no real treatment of CRPS although no shortage of people willing to try. Making the diagnosis is also not a standardized procedure and often a waste basket term when a more specific condition is missed. There are many reasons for pain, burning, etc. and in my opinion a Chiro, Podiatrist and/ or a "pain specialist" are about the least qualified to make the distinction. Good luck with it all. A Physiatrist would be an option worth pursuing.

Have you been seeing a chiro for a broken toe, or is there others problems you haven't mentioned?
Lilly Injured worker, & tired of it all! I'm too old for games!! A careless word may kindle strife, a cruel word may wreck a life, a timely word may level stress, and a loving word may heal and bless! |
